Pema Chopel

Professional biography

Pema Chopel is a lecturer at Paro College of Education (PCE), Royal University of Bhutan. He has completed his Master of Physical Education (M.PEd) and Master of Public Administration (MA.Pub. Admn.) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India. His subject of specialization is inHealth and Physical Education (HPE) and he has also taught other professional modules such as Curriculum Theories, Teaching Skills and Strategies, Bhutanese Education System to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has been engaged in designing and developing course modules related to Bachelor of Social Work programme such as Welfare Administration and Community Health and Well- Being. He has also actively participated and contributed his expertise in designing the school based HPE curriculum for Classes IV to VI. 

 

Prior to his present job at PCE, he had served at Samtse College of Education from 2009 to 2019 as a lecturer and also worked under the ministry of education as a teacher in Woochhu Lower Secondary School, Paro and Loselling Lower Secondary School, Thimphu. Besides being a teacher he was also a national soccer player of Bhutan for ten years (1999-2009) and has represented the country in various prestigious international tournaments. Currently, he is also an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) “B” and “C” international licensed coach for the soccer as well.
