The Centre for Educational Research and Development, Paro College of Education (PCE), Royal University of Bhutan, and the International Society for Teacher Education (ISfTE) welcome all the delegates to the 40th Annual Seminar hosted by Paro College of Education from June 7-13, 2020. We are honoured to bring back the ISfTE seminar to Bhutan after eight years.


We hope many of the 2012 delegates still cherish the successful Bhutan seminar. We are prepared to take the 2020 seminar to a higher level through meaningful engagement and constructive dialogue about current and emerging issues in EDUCATION. Besides the many exciting academic conversations, 2020 seminar will also offer many enriching social events and cultural experiences to the delegates.  


Even as we successfully complete the first two decades of the 21st century, the seminar will provide a unique opportunity to

take account of the educational developments of this period of unprecedented change. It also critically examines the future opportunities and challenges of the century through the seminar’s overarching theme - ‘Preparing Students for 21st Century Challenges through Improved Learning Outcomes’.


We welcome teacher educators, researchers, policy makers, teachers, students, administrators, and others interested in the development of professional educators throughout the world to attend the ISfTE 2020.
