Nim Dorji

Professional biography

Nim Dorji, B.Ed, is a teacher at Rukubji Primary School in Wangdue Phodrang. He graduated from Paro College of Education in June, 2019. He is the recipient of His Majesty’s Certificate for Academic Excellence while in the college and also topped the Bhutan Civil Service Examination for B.Ed in 2019. Since his school days, he has shouldered various leadership positions. Owing to his sheer interest in Bhutanese culture and heritage, he has earned National Certificate Level 2 (NC 2) under the Bhutan Vocational Qualifications in the occupation of Cultural Tourist Guide prior to his joining at PCE.

 

In 2016, he was selected as a Youth Representative for the Youth Initiative programme under the auspices of Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy. Since then, he was actively engaged in the debate and deliberation of youth related issues and finding ways to solve them. He was also a member of the first ever Youth Summit in the country held in 2016. He has also participated in several National and international workshops which includes: 5th International Conference on Medical and Health Sciences (26th -27th Oct, 2019), Media and Information Literacy Workshop (8th-10th July, 2019), 2nd Workshop for Journalist on Gender-sensitive reporting in Media (24th -26th July, 2018), 5th Basic Unit Leaders Training (10th -14th June, 2019), Global Citizenship Education Program-Diversity Voyage (5th-10th Sept, 2018) and 40th Batch of Integrated De-Suung Training (28th May- 17th June, 2020).

 

He is a Scout, De-Suup and Youth Representative for Youth Initiative. Earlier this year, he has participated in the review process of Bhutan’s National Youth Policy, 2011.

 

He is the PCE Alumni leader for Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag.
