Announcement for Winter Residential School: 2020-2021

Announcement for Winter Residential School: 2020-2021

Paro College of Education is pleased to announce that the Winter Residential School for 2021 will begin from 14th January and end on 4th February. Therefore, the students of MEd in Leadership & Management, MEd in Dzongkha, BEd Primary and Diploma in ECCD are requested to report to the hostel on the 13th of January, 2021.

You may have noticed that the duration for the residential school has been reduced to three weeks from the earlier practice of having four weeks. This adjustment has been made to suit the academic timing to the COVID-19 situation. As we are continuing to fight against and control the spread of the virus, the College management has decided to have maximum students reside in the hostels and take meals at the student mess, unless under unavoidable circumstances. This strategy is to ensure that our students have a safe and healthy environment for effective learning during the pandemic.

However, since the hostel capacity is limited, the students are requested to apply for hostel accommodation within 31st December so that the College can confirm the bookings in advance. Further, students are required to make necessary travel arrangements, follow SOPs and COVID-19 protocols regarding the inter-district movements and report to college as per the dates mentioned above. The college would like to wish all the students a safe travel.

Justification for recommending students to reside in the hostel:

  1. To ensure quality teaching and supervision support to the students.
  2. To follow the COVID-19 safety protocols.
  3. To allow more student-tutor interaction.
  4. To maximize the use of college facilities while on campus.
