Paro College of Education warmly welcomes Dr Beverley Argus Calvo and Nayely Jazmin Mejia Urias from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), United States, for the Study Abroad Programme, ‘Global Perspectives in Special Education: Bhutan’. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions in August 2026, this programme marks a meaningful step in advancing faculty and student exchanges. It aims to deepen mutual understanding of inclusive education policies and practices, explore cultural approaches to disability, learning and inclusion, and develop global perspectives in multilingual and special education. Through shared educational practices, cultural immersion, visits to inclusive and special education centres and institutions, and stakeholder engagement, the programme will provide opportunities for collaborative learning and professional exchange. The College looks forward to strengthening this partnership through shared experiences and a shared commitment to equitable, inclusive education.
The College also warmly welcomes back Yoesel Sangay Choden, who pursued her Master’s in Early Years Education at University College London, United Kingdom, under the Chevening Scholarship Programme. We are privileged to have her rejoin the College community and look forward to the knowledge, expertise and international perspectives she will contribute to strengthening early childhood education, teaching and research. PCE extends our warmest wishes to our visiting and returning colleagues. Welcome home – Yoesel!
