Witnessing the Haa Spring Festival: A Gratitude Filled Journey as a TP Teacher

Euthra Tashi Lhazin:

As a teacher trainee (TP teacher), my journey in Haa has been nothing short of transformative. Among the many memorable experiences, witnessing the vibrant Haa Spring Festival stands out as one of the most enriching and unforgettable moments of my teaching practice.

The Haa Spring Festival is a beautiful celebration of culture, tradition, and community spirit. Surrounded by the serene landscapes of Haa Valley, the festival brings together people from different walks of life to celebrate Bhutanese heritage through traditional songs, mask dances, local cuisine, and indigenous games. The air is filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of unity.

Being present at such a cultural event allowed me to connect with the local community beyond the classroom. It helped me understand my students bettertheir backgrounds, traditions, and the values they hold close to their hearts. This experience has greatly influenced my teaching approach, making it more culturally responsive and meaningful.

I feel immensely grateful to Paro College of Education (PCE) for assigning Haa as my TP placement. It is not just a place for practice teaching, but a place of learning in its truest sense. The exposure to such rich cultural experiences has broadened my perspective as an aspiring educator and as an individual.

The warmth and hospitality of the people of Haa have made my stay even more special. Their willingness to share their traditions and include us in their celebrations made me feel welcomed and valued.

This journey has reminded me that education goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It is about experiences, connections, and understanding the world around us. Witnessing the Haa Spring Festival has not only enriched my teaching practice but also left a lasting impression on my heart.

I will always cherish this opportunity and remain thankful to PCE for making it possible. Haa will forever hold a special place in my journey as a teacher and as a person.
