Online Admissions

Prospective students seeking admission into undergraduate (bachelors) programmes offered at Paro College of Education can apply online. Currently students who have secured government scholarship (tuition and stipend/living allowance) are admitted into programmes based on online admissions administered centrally through the University-wide online admission system. Apart from this centrally administered admission system, the College conducts online admission for its other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Currently these programmes include:

• Master of Inclusive Education
• Master of Dzongkha Education Studies
• Master of Educational Leadership & Development
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (in case of prospective students who are self-financed)
• Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Development Studies
• Diploma in Physical Education & Sport Coaching

The online admission system and acceptance of candidature has four important steps.

STEP 01:      Downloading the Application Form from the PCE website, completing the Form and submitting it online.

STEP 02:      Uploading all relevant documents as specified in the admissions guidelines/checklist.

STEP 03:      Writing an online competency test/essay (which will be evaluated according to published criteria).

STEP 04:      Participating in an interview (e.g. using skype, Zoom, video conference, etc.).

STEP 05:      Checking the outcome of the application online.

Tempa Gyeltshen graduated in 2014 from Samtse College of Education majored in English and History. He pursued Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed) and started teaching at Tendruk Central School in Samtse district. He carried out extra work as a Taekwondo Coach back at the school. He was awarded the Dan Certificate in Taekwondo in 2016. He was certified as a Taekwondo National Assistant Instructor and Taekwondo National Referee Class C in 2016. He resigned from teaching profession in 2017 and joined Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) under Bhutan University Sports Federation (BUSF) formerly Royal University Sports Federation of Bhutan (RUSFoB) as a Coordinator centered at Paro College of Education. He pursued Taekwondo National Instructor Certificate and Taekwondo National Referee Class B in 2018. In 2019, he was certified by International Kung-fu Council, 3^rd Dan in Kun-fu and Official Certificate to train Kung-fu. He joined student service section at Paro College of Education from 17^th May, 2019. Currently, he serves the college as a Student Service Officer and train Paro College Taekwondo Team. He is a Moderator for YPEER Network of the college. He is also attending Counselling Training to be certified as a Counsellor at Happiness & Wellbeing Center of the college.

Pema Chopel is a lecturer at Paro College of Education (PCE), Royal University of Bhutan. He has completed his Master of Physical Education (M.PEd) and Master of Public Administration (MA.Pub. Admn.) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India. His subject of specialization is inHealth and Physical Education (HPE) and he has also taught other professional modules such as Curriculum Theories, Teaching Skills and Strategies, Bhutanese Education System to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has been engaged in designing and developing course modules related to Bachelor of Social Work programme such as Welfare Administration and Community Health and Well- Being. He has also actively participated and contributed his expertise in designing the school based HPE curriculum for Classes IV to VI. 

Prior to his present job at PCE, he had served at Samtse College of Education from 2009 to 2019 as a lecturer and also worked under the ministry of education as a teacher in Woochhu Lower Secondary School, Paro and Loselling Lower Secondary School, Thimphu. Besides being a teacher he was also a national soccer player of Bhutan for ten years (1999-2009) and has represented the country in various prestigious international tournaments. Currently, he is also an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) “B” and “C” international licensed coach for the soccer as well.
