Jambay Lhamo

Professional biography

Jambay Lhamo is a lecturer in the Paro College of Education. She is currently studying for a PhD at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW, Australia. She has a Master degree in Education from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. She also has an MA in Contemplative Education from the Naropa University, Colorado, USA. She joined the teaching profession in 1998 after completing a Bachelor of Education from Samtse College of Education. She served as a science teacher in schools for eight years after which she joined Paro College of Education as a teacher-educator in 2008. Since coming to Paro College of Education, she has offered a diploma, bachelor and Masters programs to pre-service and in-service students. She was actively involved in writing and developing National Science Curriculum and Science School texts (Currently used in schools of Bhutan) for class four, five and six. She also developed two modules for the diploma program of Early Childhood Care and Development (Paro College of Education); Supporting Young Children’s Scientific Thinking and Guiding Responsive and reciprocal Relationship. As a member of the Science Committee for Royal Education Council (2013 – March 2019), she was passionately engaged in reviewing, innovating and developing relevant curriculum and teaching-learning materials for school education.
