Cultural Experience
Giving students the best of cultural experience is at the heart of PCE’s academic and extracurricular programmes. The College provides a rich context and ambiance for exploring culture and developing deep understanding and appreciation of Bhutanese culture and heritage. Students get opportunities to learn traditional Bhutanese music, dances and songs through individual or group performances and small and large public events on the campus and outside. Beginning July 2020, they will also be provided opportunities to not only learn traditional Bhutanese music in a formal academic setting but will also have access to learn music in a studio setting. The College also provides lots of opportunity for students to develop their spiritual interests through mindfulness practice and meditation in formal as well as informal settings. Each semester the College organizes religious discourses and and well-designed programmes of instructions and empowerments in the tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. Cultural events are organized throughout the semester where students have the opportunity to develop new talents or enhance existing ones. International students participate in these events. Special programmes of cultural experience and immersion are also organized for international students such as visits to special historical sites and cultural processes and interaction with culture custodians. Students are encouraged to participate in all the programmes that the College organizes and gain rich and meaningful experience from these.
