Seminar on Practices, Opportunities, and Challenges for the Inclusion

On May 31, 2023, Paro College of Education organized a Seminar on Practices, Opportunities, and Challenges for the Inclusion of Out-of-School Children with Disabilities in Bhutan. School principals, SEN educators, PCE lecturers and postgraduate students, including implementing partners (VTOB Foundation, Changangkha Middle Secondary School, Yangchengatsel Higher Secondary School, and Ability Bhutan Society) participated in this seminar. This seminar provided a platform to discuss and share practices, opportunities, challenges and sustainability of the intervention programs implemented by the four implementing partners for ensuring the inclusion of out-of-school children and youth with disabilities in Thimphu, Bhutan. This seminar is a part of the Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) project, generously funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). We are proud to collaborate with esteemed institutions such as Katmandu University School of Arts in Nepal and South Asian Institute for Social Transformation in Dhaka to make this project a reality. Together, we are working diligently to address the challenges and create opportunities for inclusion of vulnerable out-of-school children and youths in the respective countries.
