Community Service

Community Service

Service learning, volunteerism, and development of values for service to others are recognized as an indispensable and important characteristic of teacher education. PCE is committed to providing rich and real-life opportunities for the students to engage in positive and constructive community support projects during their study at the College. There are a number of service learning situations where students have the opportunity to recognize service to others, empathy, social responsibility, and leadership of self. A student can collaborate with others to identify projects in a variety of settings such monasteries, villages, schools, families and homes, hospitals, towns, to name few, as well as in developmental situations such as health, sanitation, economic support, early childcare, elderly care, environment, and waste management, among others. Students are supported in their community efforts by the Dean of Student Affairs and Student Service Officers.
