Department of Diploma Studies

The history of School of Diploma Studies began in January 2004 with Diploma in Leadership and Management for the Principals of Community and primary schools. This programme was intended among many other reasons, to provide a certificate level course to those heads of schools who had not availed higher level courses. The last cohort (8th cohort) consisting of ten principals successfully completed the programme in January 2013 making the total Diploma holders in Leadership and Management to 175.

The School of Diploma Studies  offers two Royal University Certified diploma study programmes: Diploma in Physical Education and Sports Coaching (DPESC) and Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Development (DECCD), which  commenced from 2014.
Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Development is offered as a part-time mode for three consecutive years. Each year there is winter residential school.
