The family of PCE welcomes a
batch of 14 new lecturers to the
College. Of the fourteen
lecturers, three are
international volunteers while
the eleven are Bhutanese. Their
names are mentioned below
against the department they have
joined:

Greenwood and Ms. Nancy
Greenwood are geared towards
setting up a ‘Learning Centre’
in the college. The learning
centre will cater to student
teachers who require remedial
tutoring in their academic
writing, reading or any other
needs identified in the process.
The two volunteer lecturers from
Canada are here only for the
Spring Semester, however, Ms.
Lhazom Dema and Mr. Karma Dorji
will continue to run the centre
after they leave. Besides
establishing the learning
centre, the two volunteers will
be engaged in developing the
TESOL module.
Mr. Motoo
Kuchiba is a senior JICA
volunteer from Tokyo who will
serve the college for two years.
He replaces Mr. Yutaka Jose, the
former senior volunteer, who
left us in December last year.
Mr. Dawa
Dukpa, Mr Tshewang Tobgay and
Mr. Jurmee Thinley are fresh
graduates who cleared their RCSC
Examination successfully in
2008. Upon being ear marked for
the two teacher training
colleges, they had to undergo
their PGDE at the Samtse College
of Education. They completed
their PGDE last December.
The other
Bhutanese lecturers are
transferred from the Ministry of
Education, except for Mr. Penjor
who has been transferred from
the Samste College of Education
where he served as a lecturer in
Dzongkha for ten years. Ms.
Kezang Wangmo has been
transferred from Changangkha
MSS, Ms. Yangdon from Katsho LSS,
Ms. Lhazom Dema and Mr. Karma
Dorji from Galeyphu MSS, Mr.
Kunzang from Damphu MSS, and Ms.
Amina Gurung from Motithang HSS.
All of them are teachers who
have not less than ten years of
teaching experience in the
field.
PCE
welcomes them wholeheartedly and
hopes that they have a fruitful
and an enriching professional
life ahead in the college.
